Step-up
Single-Leg StrengthWHAT IS IT
The Step-up drives the body onto a box with one leg at a time. It builds the single-leg strength and knee control that the lunges and the sled push rely on, with or without weight.
HOW TO DO IT CORRECTLY
- 1Stand facing a box, holding weights at your sides if prescribed.
- 2Place one whole foot on the box.
- 3Drive through that heel to stand tall on top, without pushing off the back leg.
- 4Step down with control, same leg leading.
- 5Alternate legs or finish one side, as prescribed.
