Sit-up

Sit-up

Trunk Endurance

WHAT IS IT

The Sit-up is the most commonly logged core movement in hybrid training, usually performed over an AbMat for full range. Note that many HYROX coaches favour anti-flexion work instead, since the race rewards holding an upright torso rather than repeatedly bending it.

HOW TO DO IT CORRECTLY

  1. 1Lie on your back with knees bent and the soles of the feet together or flat.
  2. 2Place an AbMat under the lower back if you have one, to fill the lumbar gap.
  3. 3Reach the arms overhead and touch the floor behind you at the bottom.
  4. 4Sit all the way up and touch the floor in front of your feet.
  5. 5Lower under control back to the start rather than dropping down.
