Shoulder Press
Strict Overhead StrengthWHAT IS IT
The Shoulder Press drives a barbell, dumbbells or a kettlebell from the shoulders to overhead with no help from the legs. It builds the shoulder and triceps strength behind every wall ball, push press and burpee.
HOW TO DO IT CORRECTLY
- 1Start with the weight at the shoulders, elbows slightly in front of the bar or bells.
- 2Stand tall, squeeze the glutes and brace the core.
- 3Press straight up, moving the head back just enough to clear the bar.
- 4Lock the arms out overhead with the weight over mid-foot.
- 5Lower under control to the shoulders without dipping the knees.
