How to do it

    Start standing with a dumbbell in each hand at your sides.
  2. 2
    Drop into a burpee, lowering your chest between the dumbbells.
  3. 3
    Push back up and jump or step your feet toward your hands.
  4. 4
    In one fluid motion, swing both dumbbells between your legs and drive them overhead.
  5. 5
    Lock out overhead with a braced core, then lower under control and repeat.

About this movement

The Devil Press combines a burpee with a double dumbbell snatch into one brutal full-body movement. From a burpee over the dumbbells, you drive them overhead in a single explosive motion — a favorite in HYROX-style conditioning for its huge cardio and strength demand.
