Bear Crawl

Bear Crawl

Crawling Strength

WHAT IS IT

The Bear Crawl moves forward on hands and feet with the knees hovering just off the floor. It builds shoulder endurance and core stiffness, and it is common in HYROX warm-ups and metcons.

HOW TO DO IT CORRECTLY

  1. 1Start on hands and knees, hands under shoulders, knees under hips.
  2. 2Lift the knees two fingers off the floor, back flat.
  3. 3Move the opposite hand and foot forward together in small steps.
  4. 4Keep the hips low and level; don't let them rise.
  5. 5Crawl the prescribed distance at a steady pace.
