V-Up

Core Strength

The V-Up is a dynamic abdominal exercise where the torso and legs rise simultaneously to form a V shape. It trains the entire rectus abdominis with a strong emphasis on the lower abs and hip flexors, and is a common floor-based alternative to Toes to Bar.

How to

  1. Lie flat on your back with arms extended overhead and legs straight.
  2. Brace your core and simultaneously lift your legs and torso off the floor.
  3. Reach your hands toward your toes, forming a V shape at the top.
  4. Keep your legs as straight as possible throughout the movement.
  5. Lower back down with control — do not drop — and repeat.
